The University of Patras will soon announce thirty (30) placements at the postgraduate programme of studies “MSc in Biomedical Engineering” for the academic year 2019 – 2020. Application and admission links will be activated soon.

Application & Admission

Biomedical Engineering is a rapidly emerging discipline that is becoming an intrinsic part of modern medicine and healthcare. This interdisciplinary domain requires both technological and medical expertise so as to allow for researchers and practitioners to efficiently grasp complex biomedical problems

A successful biomedical engineer has the ability to solve specific healthcare problems that either using either specialized equipment or engineering/mathematical concepts, models and approaches. Those include but are not limited to physics, control systems, mechanics, electronics, signal processing, computational modeling, material science.

The Biomedical Engineering Master’s Program of the University of Patras is an historical international graduate program that has been recently re-founded towards recent trends and technology. Courses are given in English and students from Europe are welcome.

Students receive interdisciplinary technical education and training through the participating departments:

  1. Electrical and Computer Engineering
  2. Mechanical Engineering
  3. Computer Engineering and Informatics
  4. School of Medicine

Apart from baseline biomedical engineering courses, one of the foci of the program is the virtual physiological human. Students are trained on Biomechanics, Biofluid dynamics, Modeling and Simulation, Biomaterials & Tissue Engineering, Rehabilitation Engineering and Medical Robotics.

The graduate program fosters collaboration with several research labs in Greece and Europe, where students can work on their MSc thesis and take advantage of state-of-the-art equipment and technology.

Prospective students that would like to pursue a MSc degree in Biomedical Engineering, using state-of-the-art equipment, with potential of many international collaborations, in a nice Mediterranean environment, are encouraged to apply.
